Is it possible to practice Kayaking in Iguazu Falls area?
Kayaking in the Iguazu Falls region offers a thrilling and immersive experience amidst one of the most spectacular natural wonders in the world. Iguazu Falls, located on the border of Argentina and Brazil, is renowned for its stunning waterfalls, lush rainforest surroundings, and diverse wildlife. While kayaking in the falls themselves isn’t typically allowed due to safety concerns and the powerful currents, there are several kayaking options available nearby that allow you to explore the rivers and waterways of the region:
The upper Iguazu river area offers kayaking opportunities with calmer waters suitable for beginners and intermediate paddlers. Guided kayaking tours often take visitors along the Upper Iguazu River, allowing them to enjoy the scenic beauty of the rainforest and perhaps catch glimpses of local wildlife such as birds, butterflies, and capybaras.
The lower portion of the Iguazu River is algo good. Further downstream from the falls, the Lower Iguazu River provides more challenging kayaking experiences. The river features rapids and swift currents, making it suitable for more experienced kayakers. Guided tours may include navigating through the rapids and exploring the river’s diverse ecosystem.

Kayaking in the national park. Is it possible?
While kayaking isn’t permitted within the boundaries of Iguazu National Park where the waterfalls are located, the park offers various other activities such as hiking, wildlife watching, and boat tours that provide up-close views of the falls. So, for kayaking, you have to choose activities outside the national park
