A unique and innovative proposal! The extreme Northeast of the Province of Misiones still holds surprises from an unknown Argentina. To the environmental interpretation of this lush Jungle, we add an unexpected and astonishing journey to discover the life of Colonia Andresito.
Settlers from the late 20th century arrived in the area with hopes for a new opportunity in life. They conquered this untamed Jungle through hard work, hope, and sacrifice. Stories about the Jaguar and gigantic snakes, life at the edge of the Jungle, campfires, Yerba Mate, and the local culture still reflect strictly the tales of Horacio Quiroga.
Pick up from your hotel in Puerto Iguazu or Foz do Iguaçu, or airport. And transfer to the meeting point for your transfer to Yacutinga Rainforest Lodge. During the journey, we will notice the subsistence agricultural and livestock system that predominates in the Northeast of Misiones Province.
The landscape is extremely picturesque, characterized by deep greenery, reddish and clayey roads, Settlers, and their Yerba Mate farms. By mid-afternoon, we arrive at the South entrance of the Yacutinga Private Reserve, nestled in the heart of the Paranaense Jungle.

The set of scheduled activities provides the opportunity to understand the Misiones Jungle from both Environmental and Social perspectives. Eco-tours through the waters and trails of the deep Jungle are included, guided by Ecologists within the exclusive Yacutinga Private Reserve.
Today, we will enjoy a tour through a Yerba Mate (Ilex paraguariensis) plantation, the main agricultural product of Colonia Andresito, allows us to understand the use that humans have made of this emblematic species of the Misiones Jungle by domesticating it and transforming it into a cultural ritual.
The visit to the Guarani Community neighboring Yacutinga Lodge. The idea during these hours of participation with the Kagui Pora 2 indigenous community is to understand the social reality experienced by our Guarani brothers and sisters and to try to help them in various ways through the development of this low-impact eco-tourism activity.
Without the medicinal use of native plants from the Misiones Jungle, the process of colonization would not have been possible. Therefore, we incorporate the use of our traditional mate around the campfire as a way of administering the homeopathic benefits that some of the generously provided plants of the Jungle offer us. Its tradition is explained, which undoubtedly allowed the settlement of pioneer families in these rugged environments. This tradition remains alive and in all its splendor in this unknown area of Argentina.
