The time needed to explore each side of Iguazu Falls depends on the trails and activities you choose.
On the Argentine side, visitors typically spend 6 to 8 hours, as this side offers a more immersive experience with several trails and circuits, including the Upper Circuit, Lower Circuit, and Devil’s Throat Circuit. Together, they provide different perspectives and bring visitors close to the waterfalls.
The Ecological Jungle Train, which is included with park admission, connects the main areas of the park and reduces the amount of walking required. However, exploring the circuits still involves a considerable amount of walking, so it is best to allow most of the day for your visit.
You can also add Gran Aventura, an adrenaline-filled experience combining a 4×4 ride through the rainforest with a boat ride that approaches the base of the falls. The complete activity lasts approximately 2 hours, rather than 1.5 hours as previously stated. The Argentine side is also known for its rich wildlife, and visitors may spot coatis, butterflies, toucans, monkeys, and other native animals.

On the Brazilian side, the standard visit usually takes 2 to 4 hours. The main experience follows the approximately 1.5-kilometer Falls Trail, which offers spectacular panoramic views of the waterfalls along the way.
The final section of the trail is the highlight of the visit. A walkway extends toward the Devil’s Throat, allowing you to feel the spray and immense power of the waterfalls from close range. The Brazilian side offers broader, more open viewpoints, making it ideal for wide-angle photographs of the falls.
A panoramic helicopter flight is also available near the Brazilian side. The standard flight over the falls lasts approximately 10 minutes and provides an unforgettable aerial view of the entire waterfall system.
