A Relaxed and Immersive Two-Day Exploration of Iguazu National Park

Experience the Argentine side of Iguazu Falls beyond the traditional one-day visit with a complete two-day exploration of the national park.

Dividing the visit over two days gives you more time to appreciate the extraordinary landscapes, biodiversity, and waterfalls of Iguazu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature.

On the first day, you will explore the classic Upper and Lower circuits, combining panoramic viewpoints with close-up encounters with the waterfalls. You may also add the optional Great Adventure, which includes an off-road journey through the rainforest and an exhilarating boat ride near the falls.

The second day reveals a quieter and more natural side of the park. You will walk along the Macuco Trail, travel aboard the Ecological Jungle Train, and visit the spectacular Devil’s Throat. The experience concludes with Travesía Iguazú, a scenic navigation from the national park to Puerto Iguazu.

This itinerary offers more time for photography, wildlife observation, and leisurely walks through the Atlantic Rainforest. It is an excellent option for nature lovers, photographers, families, and anyone looking for a more complete way to discover the Argentine side of Iguazu Falls.

Day 1: Upper and Lower Circuits

Your two-day experience begins with pick-up from your hotel and a transfer to Iguazu National Park. Accompanied by your professional English-speaking guide, you will begin exploring the Argentine side through its two classic walking circuits.

The Upper Circuit follows a series of elevated walkways above several waterfalls, providing spectacular panoramic views as enormous volumes of water cascade over the cliffs. This relatively easy route offers numerous viewpoints and excellent opportunities for photography.

The visit continues along the Lower Circuit, where trails and stairways bring you much closer to the falls. From this level, you can experience the power of Iguazu surrounded by tropical vegetation, colorful butterflies, and the refreshing mist produced by the waterfalls.

Throughout the day, your guide will introduce you to the rich flora and fauna of the Atlantic Rainforest. Coatis, toucans, monkeys, butterflies, and numerous bird species may be observed, although wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Travelers looking for an additional adventure may add the optional Great Adventure excursion. This experience combines an off-road journey through the rainforest with a navigation along the Lower Iguazu River, culminating in an exhilarating boat ride near several waterfalls.

After completing the day’s activities, you will return to your hotel to rest before continuing your exploration the following day.

Day 2: Macuco Trail, Devil’s Throat and Travesía Iguazú

The second day focuses on the rainforest and the quieter natural areas of Iguazu National Park. The morning begins with a walk along the Macuco Trail, one of the park’s most rewarding rainforest paths.

Away from the busier circuits, the trail provides an opportunity to walk beneath the forest canopy while learning about native trees, orchids, butterflies, birds, and other wildlife. With some luck, monkeys, toucans, agoutis, and colorful tropical birds may also be spotted.

After the rainforest walk, you will board the Ecological Jungle Train and travel through the forest toward Devil’s Throat Station. From there, an elevated boardwalk crosses the Upper Iguazu River and leads to the park’s most iconic viewpoint.

At Devil’s Throat, the river plunges nearly 80 meters into an immense horseshoe-shaped canyon. The roar of the water, permanent mist, and frequent rainbows create one of the most spectacular and unforgettable sights at Iguazu Falls.

After visiting Devil’s Throat, you will begin Travesía Iguazú, a scenic navigation from the national park toward Puerto Iguazu. Instead of returning by road, you will travel along the Iguazu River while enjoying views of the rainforest, riverbanks, native vegetation, and surrounding landscape.

The navigation concludes at the port in Puerto Iguazu. Upon arrival, you will be transferred comfortably back to your hotel, marking the end of your two-day experience.

Excellent Way to See Iguazu Falls

"

This was an excellent way to see Iguazu Falls and feel totally taken care of. Everything went really well from the initial contact to help us plan the trip to the airport transfers, flights, tour guide/driver and hotel. The tour guide/driver was great at flexibly meeting our needs and interests and making sure we got as much out of the 2 days as possible. He was very informed about the area and things to do. We could not have asked for a better way to experience this magnificent wonder from God.

One day tour of Iguazu Falls

"We had a great time visiting Iguazu Falls from the Brazilian side. The one day visit which started from our hotel in Rio de Janeiro in the morning and ended with returning to the same hotel in the night went according to plan without any hitches. Our thanks to Walter who made all the arrangements for the visit.

Great destination, great guide

"Our Iguazu Falls trip was great! A highlight of our time in South America. Jorge was a great guide. We arrived not knowing much about the falls, so we had to rely on Jorge to drive the itinerary which took a little prompting on our part. We did not realize that we would be so far from a city with restaurants, so be prepared to eat at the park lodge (which was pretty good).
