15 Things to do in Iguazu Falls, Puerto Iguazu, and Foz do Iguacu

Iguazu Falls (Brazil Side)

See what to do on your visit to Iguazu Falls, Puerto Iguazu (Argentina), and Foz do Iguazu (Brazil) in this article.

Iguazu Falls

The Iguazu National Park is shared with Argentina and Brazil, one in Puerto Iguazu city and the other in Foz do Iguacu respectively. This National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site declared in 1984. Thousands of visitors travel to South America especially to witness this unique and natural attraction.

In each park, you have main trails where you can enjoy the incredible views of the Falls. Both sides are complementary, and we always recommend visiting both if you have enough time in this area.

Argentinian Side of the Falls

Devil’s Throat Trail

This trail is the main attraction of the National Park. From there you will witness the most impressive fall and see it from above, making a unique and unrepeatable experience.

To arrive here, you need to take the ecological train to the last stop. Then the path has approximately 2,200 metres with several stops with seats to rest.

Great Adventure

Great Adventure

During your visit to the National Park, you can add this adventure activity to your schedule. Great Adventure activity combines the gorgeous landscape of the jungle and the waterfalls.

This tour consists of an eco truck ride into the jungle, which will be accompanied with a specialist bilingual guide and will teach you about the fauna and flora we can find in this rainforest.

Arriving at its dock, visitors will board the boat to enjoy this unrepeated experience. The boat will ride under the falls, making all passengers get wet and soaked.

The expedition lasts around 2 hours.

Full Moon Walking Tour

Full Moon Waking Tour to Iguazu Falls

During specific days each month, Iguazu Falls opens its door during the night to witness an unique experience under the moonlight.

This activity is done on the Devil’s Throat trail, where you will walk till the end of the path and watch the astonishing view of the most important fall under the full moon light.

If you are traveling during these days, we highly recommend adding this activity to your itinerary.

Macuco Trail

If you have more days available in Iguazu and you do not know what to do, this could be a great alternative if you are looking for something surrounded by nature.

In the Argentinian National Park, there is an alternative trail called Macuco, which you won’t be able to do during the same day you visit the main trails to the falls. That is why, if you have one more day available, this wild and friendly path in the middle of the jungle should be on your list. The walk lasts around 3 hours, and it is open from 8 AM to 3 PM, so you should do it in the morning.

Brazilian Side of the Falls

Iguazu Falls Trails

Then, arriving at the second stop, you will start the main circuit of about 1,500 metres, which ends in the last trail to see the Devil’s Throat Fall. From there, you will be so close to the fall that you will feel the mist and even get soaked.
